I started exploring architecture back in grade 12, thanks to an initial curiosity about the field and some great insights from my late uncle Jason, who's a licensed architect. That push led me to enroll in the Architectural Technology program after high school. Over three years at Durham College, I tackled everything from the basics of architecture to complex structural engineering physics.
The program wasn't just about learning the technical stuff; it was also about bringing out my creative side as I designed residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. I got hands-on with creating structural components and designing facades that really pop. Plus, I had the chance to work on heritage building projects, diving into styles like Gothic Revival and Modern. Graduating with a 3.7 GPA and hitting the honor roll four times was the cherry on top. This journey didn't just teach me about architecture; it made me fall in love with it and set me up for a fulfilling career.
